09/30: Ten Years

After a most exhausting quarter
(remind me to never take a techie class again,
I've realized I'm a fuzzy through and through)
and two weeks of hectic finals/papers/assignments ahead of me,
I needed to escape school for a day or two.

So, as I'm sprawled out on my sister's bedroom floor in SF,
with the sunlight shining directly on my rear,
complete peace and quiet (are you sure this is a big city?),
and four hours to go until the big UNC/Duke game,
I'm perfectly at peace.

Which brings me to my next point...

Day 9 of the Blogging Challenge:
where do you want to be in 10 years?

via

Ten years from now, I'd like to have a successful career
and be healthy and happy and be doing my part in changing the world.
I'd like to be proud of myself and be passionate about whatever I'm doing.

That's great and all, and I do want all of that.

But also, realistically speaking, I'll be 29 years old.
And so, ten years from now,

I bet you I'll still be screwing up every single day.
But I hope I'll be learning from all of those mistakes as well.

I can see myself living in a big city in an apartment that I copied from a West Elm catalog,
dating eligible bachelors (ok... hopefully) until I find the one,
meeting up with my friends for brunch and mimosas and A.M. champagne,
and telling everyone I'll go out while secretly staying in and eating leftovers
and watching lame ABC Family movies while wearing
Prada booties that I spent a month's worth of rent on.

Or I could be married, with two kids, a dog, and a white picket fence.

Or I could be the CEO of a Fortune 500 company,
and actually afford those Prada booties.

Who knows.

I just hope I'm content (and not complacent) wherever I am.

Where would you like to be in ten years?

PS. I am completely in love with this song.
Watch/listen to it. You will be inspired.
And hopefully, take the opportunities you are given,
because you'll realize that not everyone has the chance to get to plan for the next ten years.
