April Favorite Things

This is one of those times when you walk into a classroom six minutes late,
a really big classroom that's conveniently shaped so that
you have to walk in front of the 100+ students,
as the professor is lecturing,
while holding your Starbucks cup awkwardly,
and your head hung low,
like no, there was no bike accident,
I'm sorry I just wanted coffee, but be happy I'm here at all.*

Except it's twenty million times less scary -
because you guys are nice and pretty and funny,
and don't drill laser beams of shame into the back of my head.

What I'm trying to say is, I'm tardy to the party over at Dancing with Ashley,
but nevertheless here are my...
FAVORITE THINGS OF APRIL:

1) As a distractionary method to get me away from our suite so that our other friends could set up for my surprise birthday festivities (aren't they great), my roommate drove me to In-N-Out for animal fries and burgers... but we made a detour to PetSmart, and nearly came home with a hamster named Rolo and a kitty named Sally. Upon texting our other suitemates, we got a: hell no. Not even a simple "no." It was a "bring them back and we move out" kind of situation. Spoilsports.

2) A lace scalloped hem top from Madewell & a polka dot skirt from Urban Outfitters - hello pretties! Thank you, sister!

3) A relaxing pedicure. How can something so simple be so... blissful? There's just something about a quick foot rub, some mindless magazines, and oh wait, there was a foot tub with flashing rainbow lights. Yes. There was.

4) Sunny, beautiful, breathtaking weather & views. Literally - breathtaking. As in... my breath was certainly taken away when I found out each of those 2340098234 palm trees down our picturesque Palm Drive takes $52K to maintain. Each year. I mean, I didn't really think my tuition was going towards curing cancer or funding the next venture into space (yes, I did) ... anyway, whatever. Sorry, Dad.

5) Mmm chocolate frozen yogurt from Fraiche as a proper farewell to my favorite month.
{Five minutes before this picture was taken,
Lauren texted me saying: want a cupcake?
I replied: nope, giving up sugar.
... and then this picture was taken. A girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do.}

6) SARAH COLONNA {of Chelsea Lately & After Lately fame, and then there's the fact that she's also a very successful writer and comedian and everything that I'm not} REPLIED TO MY TWEET.

I am obsessed with her.

& I am obsessed with the fact that we had a conversation about {not needing} pants.

This is where the phrase "Story of My Life" becomes oh-so-relevant.

HERE WE GO, MAY!

*Not that this has happened... or anything.
