First things first.
I'm wishing my Daddy the very happiest of birthdays -
I love you, I miss you, and I cannot wait to see you!
birfday boy.
Second things second.
Day 6 of the Blogging Challenge:
earliest childhood memory.
My very first consistently coherent memory
is one of me nearly getting kidnapped.
(Do I have your attention now?)
I was in China when I was six years old,
and had managed to bribe my cousin into taking me to the corner store,
to ride on one those arcade animal things.
You know, the annoying things that emit shrilly sounds.
It's like a solo carousel - #ForeverAlone.
I had taken 4 or 5 consecutive turns,
and my cousin needed to go to the bank.
I refused.
(Do you understand the meaning of livin' the life?!)
So she handed me a few more coins,
and told me to stay where I was.
She probably hadn't been gone for more than 5 minutes,
when a large blue truck selling watermelons pulled up,
with a group of really creepy men,
all leering and laughing at me.
Those watermelon sellers, dude. Scary stuff.
They drove away after a few seconds,
but I got really terrified that they would come back,
so I started walking in the direction where my cousin had gone.
And I couldn't find no bank.
So I sat on the street corner and cried,
until a nice old grandpa came and took my hand
and walked me around the neighborhood-village-whatever,
basically just calling out to random people asking if I was their kid.
(My response to him inquiring what my parents' names were, where I lived,
and yada yada yada was a look that clearly said "how would I know?")
Anyway, long story short,
my mom and cousin came running down the street and found me,
but if not, he would've taken me to the police station or whatever else might have happened.
Dodged a bullet there, I did!
Happy Wednesday, folks!
