Product Rave: Bumble & bumble Hair Powder

I had the best time this evening, but I will post all about that tomorrow. For now, I wanted to rave about one product that I have been obsessing over.

It is the Hair Powder from Bumble & bumble, which is essentially a dry shampoo. This product works wonders! Granted, I haven't really tried many dry shampoos. I did test out Suave's price-conscious version, but either I didn't use it right or it just doesn't work for my hair in particular (because I have heard great reviews from many other people), but I just wasn't overly impressed with it. At that point, I gave up my quest for a quality dry shampoo and moved on with life.

Then, my sister moved all of her stuff back home once she moved out of her NYC apartment and embarked on her southeastern Asia adventure for the summer. She had some pretty fun-looking makeup and hair products, so I "borrowed" a few to test out (Sarah, if you're reading this... thanks, and you can have them back when you're home!).

This product has been my favorite. I generally douse my hair with Aussie's Heat Protecting Shine Spray, then straighten my hair, and then lift up sections of the top layer of my hair and spray this powder at my roots. It comes out feeling like liquid instead of powder and smells just like any other chemical spray (that is the one con to this product... other than the price). Then I massage my scalp in the area where I sprayed the powder and then run my fingers through the entire length of my hair to distribute the product.

It gives instant volume, and makes my hair look like it's been lightly teased at the top. I love it! Next time, I think I'm going to try the black version though, because the white powder does sometimes leave residue in my hair. Also, I want to try other versions of dry shampoo (Oscar Blandi, Psssssst!, etc.) so that I can compare results. But this one is definitely a winner (its $35 for a 4.4 oz bottle pricetag is not, however...)!

Do you use dry shampoo? Any brand recommendations?

  1. I need this, ASAP! And I occasionally use dry shampoo and the one I've liked the best so far is Oscar Blandi.
